adam's fall and mine

"Another difficult question that shrouds the doctrine of predestination is the question of how our sinful nature can be inherited from Adam. If we are born with a fallen nature, if we are born in sin, if we are born in a state of moral inability, how can God hold us responsible for our sins?" Read more

Ironically enough, this was a question brought up in my small group this weekend.

I responded that this question is unfortunately not a biblical one. The biblical quesiton would ask, "why are any of us here anyway, since God should have turned Adam and Eve to ash where they stood?"

The question about declaring us responsible for Adam's sin becomes moot if you realize that if not for common grace, none of us would exist anyway. It is not for those enjoying common grace to complain that others were also given salvific grace. It acually becomes kinda laughable.

Best wishes!

Good point! You know, adding to that, the more one savours special grace, the more one recognizes and appreciates common grace too; for one's self and for all mankind.
